Grown Ups

Grownups is a movie about a bunch of childhood friends who haven’t kept in touch of the past 30 years and an unfortunate event brings them all back together to relive their childhoods again.
The movie makes you feel like you are there with the way the camera zooms in on the characters when a joke is cracked so it makes you feel as if you are sitting in front of him and experience the joke full force which i think really captures the scenes of the jokes. It makes you feel like you do when you are around your friends and jokes are made and how you see there faces when they are laughing.
What can you say about the acting when you get the comedians of Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Kevin James together you expect an all out comedy and the acting delivers in the comedy aspect but in the scenes that are meant to be serious they suffer a little because they a truly comedians so its tough for them to steal the scene with the dramatic acting. I thought Steve Buscemi as the childhood rival Wiley was very funny in the few scenes he was in. A lot of the time it looks as if they are ad libbing their scenes and it works with them because they feed off of each other.
Dennis Dugan the director has had a lot of experience working with Adam Sandler and comedy movies with the movies Big Daddy, I Now pronounce you Chuck and Larry, and You Don’t Mess With Zohan which one was a good movie one was and alright movie and the other wasn’t very good at all. He had a huge cast to work with which you would think would be easy to do but it seems hard because you have to make enough screen time for every character and make the movie move while doing it which works most of the time and only on some scenes does it struggle to succeed.
I think the movie delivered in being a funny movie and getting a lot of laughs from the audience but I believe the movie suffered with the plot because each character has its own plot that has to be enjoyed and some are understood but others aren’t developed and lacking which takes away from the movie in a whole. I would rate the movie a 6 out of 10 its a funny movie but don’t expect to much of a story.
